RE:	Award Bid for Project PW1522, Cedarwood Parking Lot Improvements

Background

Tenants To Homeowners is developing 14 affordable-rate, senior living townhomes in the summer and fall of 2015 adjacent to the United Way property.  As part of this development the United Way submitted a site plan to add additional parking to an existing parking lot.

Project Description

The project includes minor grading with a small dentition pond, additional parking, pavement marking, and curb and gutter.  The project will begin in July of 2015 and will be completed in the summer of 2015.

Project Funding

This project will be funded with CDBG funds.  Staff has evaluated the bid proposal to check for accuracy, completeness and other applicable criteria. As shown in the summary table, the bid proposal from R.D. Johnson Excavating Co., Inc. offers the lowest and best total bid price for this project. Staff recommends awarding the bid to R.D. Johnson Excavating Co., Inc.

Action Request

Award City Bid No. B1531, Cedarwood Parking Lot Improvements, to R.D. Johnson Excavating Co., Inc. in the amount of $25,800 provided the contractor can meet the terms established in the contract documents.
