Proclamation

Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence Busker Festival and The Art Tougeau Art Car Parade will take place in downtown Lawrence the last weekend in May; and

WHEREAS:   A contortionist and a car shaped like a phone are unusual and weird; and

WHEREAS:   A strongwoman and a street legal U.F.O. are definitely weird and unusual; and

WHEREAS:   Lawrence is often identified with the different, the unusual, and yes, the weird; and

WHEREAS:   The Mayor has now said the word “weird” way too much.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Lawrence, Kansas, does hereby proclaim May 29 – 31, 2015 as

“the official weird weekend”

in the City of Lawrence.
