RE:	Change Order – Preferred Lawn Service and Landscaping - 2015 Master Street Tree Project-17 additional trees.

Background

In April 2015 Parks and Recreation Department received written quotes to purchase and install by contract 40 trees for the 2015 Master Street Tree Program.

Arbor Masters   Tree & Landscape            $13, 600.00                     $340 each

Rosehill Gardens Inc                               $14,400.00                      $360 each

Turf Design Landscape & Irrigation           $20,016.96                      $500.42 each

Preferred Lawn Service & Landscaping provided the lowest quote for the project at an average cost of $336.28 per tree for a 2 (two) inch caliper B&B tree and PO# 012709 was approved at $13,451.20.

Project Description

We have been contacted by additional developers that have property ready for an additional 17 street trees and have requested they be ordered. This will add an additional $5,716.76 to the current purchase order bringing the total to $19,167.96. 

The work would start immediately using inventory of trees dug in the spring of 2015.

Project Funding

Funding for this project comes from the fees collected during the building permit process.

Action

Authorize the City Manager to sign a change order for the purchase and installation of 17 street trees to Preferred Lawn Service & Landscaping at a total price of $5,716.76.
