RE:	Award bid for front load dumpsters and roll-offs

On May 12, 2015, the City of Lawrence opened bids for the following:   

Bid#B1533 – Front load and roll-off dumpsters – Public Works / Solid Waste

VENDOR	Items	Bid amount
Wastequip	Front Load dumpsters (2&3cy) Roll-off containers (40cy)	$ 17,900 $ 18,216

Bids were solicited for replacements dumpsters for locations that use two cubic-yard dumpsters and three cubic-yard dumpsters (20 each) and 40 cubic yard roll-off containers (4). Only one bid was received. The bid for the front-load dumpsters is satisfactory. The roll-off containers do not meet specifications. The department recommends proceeding with the front-load dumpster purchase and re-bidding the roll-off container purchase.

Recommendation Action:

Approve bid from Wastequip for 40 front-load dumpsters in the amount of $17,900. (Public Works Department / Solid Waste Division)
