The City received a sign permit application on April 4, 2015 from the Lawrence Arts Center for the Kids Can Change The World Project. The request is for a temporary photo mural (6’x 18’) placed on exterior of the building at 701 Massachusetts Street from April 1st through September 1st, 2015. The mural is part of science art week at the Lawrence Arts Center. The mural is installed with a temporary wheatpasting technique and is anticipated to left for five to six months.

The Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission (LCAC) reviewed and considered the Lawrence Arts Center request for temporary display of public art. The Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the Lawrence City Commission approve a temporary sign permit for the Lawrence Arts Center 's Guerilla Arts program. The Committee expressed their support for the project. Draft minutes of the April 15, 2015 LCAC meeting are attached.
