RE:	Event Permit – Library Summer Reading Kickoff Party, Saturday May 30, 2015

The Lawrence Public Library has requested a Street Event Temporary use of right-of-way permit to close a portion of the 700 block of Vermont Street adjacent to the Library on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., for their Summer Reading Kickoff Party Event. Vermont Street would be closed from 7^th Street to just north of the entrance into the parking garage immediately south of the Library from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (see map). Access to the Vermont Street parking garage will be available from both Vermont and Kentucky Streets.

Notice of this event and closure has been sent to adjacent property owners.  The Library has also received approval from the adjacent businesses.

In addition; Police, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Fire/Medical, Lawrence Transit, Downtown Lawrence, Inc., and the Chamber all have reviewed this permit with no issues.

ACTION

Approve a Street Event Temporary use of right-of-way permit to close a portion of the 700 block of Vermont Street adjacent to the Library on Saturday May 30, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for their Summer Reading Kickoff Party Event.
