RE:	Purchase of Mower for Youth Sports Complex

Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to replace a 2005 mower that is used to mow athletic fields. This unit is used daily during the mowing season to maintain the 15 soccer fields, 5 football fields and 8 baseball/softball fields at the Youth Sports Complex.

Funding

The mower will be purchased using pricing from a cooperative purchasing agreement with the State of Kansas (Contract EVT0003363) which would result in a total purchase price of $51,570.92. This price includes the trade-in of an old mowing unit (#5520). Funds are available for this purchase in the General Fund Budget and out of the Special Recreation Fund.

Action Request

Authorize the purchase of a Groundmaster 4100-D for $51,570.92 from the Professional Turf Products, L.P.
