RE:

City Manager’s Report 3/10/2015  –  Public Work’s 7th Annual Engineering Stakeholder’s meeting

The Public Works Department held its 7th annual stakeholders meeting on February 25, 2015.

This is an opportunity each year to get the stakeholders that work with the Public Works Department together to discuss the past year, the upcoming construction year, grow our partnership, gain input and to provide training on new city items.

This year was another successful meeting that included; Updates on the pavement maintenance program progress, Review of the overall pavement condition index (PCI) and deterioration rates, changes to the City of Lawrence combined specification and standard detail books, 2015 CIP, Utility Department and street maintenance plan. An update on how Public Works will advertise and distribute plans and specification on projects through an electronic “plan room”, The Utilities Department gave an update on their 2015 projects as well as general discussion on their specifications.

We ended the meeting with a general discussion with the group.

We look forward each year to getting together with our partners and will continue this meeting for years to come.
