2.       Approve all claims.  The list of approved claims will be posted to the agenda the day after the City Commission meeting.

c)       Award the bid for two (2) rear load refuse body trucks for the Solid Waste Division to the low bidder, Downing Sales and Service, for a total of $190,532.   Bid Memo

 

d)       Award the construction contract for Bid No. B1501, Project No. UT1416 - Kaw and Clinton Water Treatment Plants Roof Replacement, to low bidder, Diamond Everley Roofing Contractors, for the base bid in the amount of $297,180, and authorize the City Manager to execute the construction contract.   Bid Memo & Attachments

 

e)       Award bid for one (1) half ton 4 x 4 truck for the Parks and Recreation Department, to the low bidder, Laird Noller Ford, for $21,854.  Bid Memo

The proposal includes four (4) pre-school classrooms accommodating approximately 50 children on weekdays. 10.     Authorize staff to submit grant applications for the restoration of the receiving/holding vault at Oak Hill Cemetery and for the documentation of Oak Hill Cemetery using in-kind matching including staff salaries.   Staff Memo

 

11.     Approve a street event permit for the 2015 Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade to close various streets downtown on Tuesday March 17, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day Parade.    Staff Memo & Attachments

 

12.     Authorize staff to request that the Kansas Department of Transportation develop an Exchange Agreement for FFY 2015, enabling the City to exchange federal funds at ninety percent (90%) for state transportation funds.   Staff Memo & Attachments

2.       Consider adopting on first reading, Ordinance No. 9092, amending section 6-108.17, repealing existing Chapter VI, Article 6, and enacting in its place Chapter VI, Article 6 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2015 Edition and amendments thereto, pertaining to taxicabs businesses and taxicab vehicles.   Staff Memo & Attachments

 

ACTION:        Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 9092, amending section 6-108.17, repealing existing Chapter VI, Article 6, and enacting in its place Chapter VI, Article 6 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2015 Edition and amendments thereto, pertaining to taxicabs, if appropriate.

 

3.       Consider rejecting the bids received for the Maple Street Pump Station - Project PW1133 - Bid No. B1503.    Staff Memo & Attachments

Community Development Advisory Committee:

One vacancy for a position that expired 09/30/14 and one vacancy for a position that expired 09/30/15. Both positions are designated for low/mod areas.

 

Contractor Licensing Board:

One vacancy for a position that expires 12/31/17. Three additional positions expired 12/31/14, with one position eligible for reappointment. Eligibility requirements exist for this board.

 

Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board:

One vacancy for a position that expires 07/01/18.

 

Electrical Code Board of Appeals:

One vacancy for a position that expires 03/31/15. One additional position expires 03/31/15 and is not eligible for reappointment. Eligibility requirements exist for this board.
