RE:	Purchase of US Army Corp of Engineers approved rip-rap

Project Scope

Per the 2013 US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) periodical inspection, it was noted that rip-rap replacement was needed along the Kansas River Levee.  In the 2015 approved general fund budget, $50,000 was identified for this project.  Three (3) suppliers were contacted regarding availability and transportation of approved rip-rap (see attached quote sheet). Mid States Materials provided the lowest price for delivered USACE approved rip-rap with immediate availability.

HAMM	$26.00/ton
Martin Marietta	Unable to deliver USACE approved riprap

Project Funding

Funding will be from the approved 2015 General Fund Levee Slope Repair line item.

Action Requested

Approve the purchase of ASACE approved rip-rap from Mid States Materials not to exceed $50,000.
