Purchase one (1) police utility vehicle |
Background:
On November 13, 2014, Police Unit B3 was involved in an accident. The unit was damaged beyond repair and needs to be replaced. The driver of the other vehicle was uninsured. The Police Department will get salvage value for the vehicle and proceeds will go back to the City, and we are pursuing the uninsured driver for restitution. In January the City went out for bid and the City Commission approved purchasing police utilities vehicles The winning bid for the police utilities was from Laird Noller Automotive for $26,702. each. We are requesting to purchase another utility to replace the totaled vehicle off this bid.
Funding:
Funds are being requested from equipment reserve.
Recommendation Action:
Approve the purchase of one police utility vehicle for the Police Department from Laird Noller Automotive for $26,702.
