Sustainability Annual Report for 2014

City-County Sustainability Coordinator Eileen Horn has prepared the Sustainability Annual Report for 2014.  The report highlights some key sustainability accomplishments of Douglas County and the City of Lawrence over the past year. 

Gymnastics gets boost from Sports Pavilion Lawrence

With the addition of the Sports Pavilion Lawrence, the LPRD gymnastics program has been able to expand in entry level tumbling, gymnastics and team gymnastics. Gymnastics programming at Sports Pavilion Lawrence is averaging 300 participants per month since opening in October; approximately 271 are recreation class participants and 28of the participants are on the LPRD gymnastics team. Open Gym at Sports Pavilion Lawrence has brought in 1,134 participants to participate since October with 6 sessions for 2-5 year-olds and parents; one session for 6-14 year-olds and one session for high school/college/adults. All Youth Cheer and Beginning/Intermediate Tumbling classes have filled to capacity in January. Sports Pavilion Lawrence has also hosted 32 gymnastics birthday parties since October.  Report
