11/25/14 @ 2:35 p.m.:
- Added correspondence to Consent Agenda Item No. 5 – NEA OurTown Grant; and
- Added correspondence to Consent Agenda Item No. 8 – Request for letter of support for tax credits for Bethel Estates, a senior housing community at the corner of 23rd Street and O’Connell Road.
A. RECOGNITION/PROCLAMATION/PRESENTATION:
1. Proclaim Saturday, November 29, 2014 as Small Business Saturday.
B. CONSENT AGENDA:
NOTE: All matters listed below on the Consent Agenda are considered under one motion and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion on those items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
1. Receive minutes from various boards and commissions:
Planning Commission meeting of 10/20/14
Public Health Board meeting of 09/15/14
2. Approve all claims. The list of approved claims will be posted to the agenda the day after the City Commission meeting.
3. Approve licenses as recommended by the City Clerk’s Office.
4. Adopt on second and final reading, Ordinance No. 9041, amending STO 85(b) to include a prohibition against stopping, standing, or parking in marked bicycle lanes.
5. Approve proceeding with request from Lawrence Arts Center to partner with the City of Lawrence for NEA OurTown Grant by authorizing the first step in submittal of the general grant description in December with the understanding that the full grant will be reviewed by the Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission and approved by the City Commission prior to final submittal in January 2015. 6. Approve extension request for Site Plan, SP-8-46-10, for McCray Lumber Company, located at 1516 W. 6th Street. Submitted by McCray Lumber Company, property owner of record. Staff Memo & Attachments
7. Authorize the City Manager to execute a License Agreement permitting Hill Family Investments, LLC, to use a portion of the Ninth Street Right of Way for four (4) parking spaces directly in front of the building at 512 E. 9th Street. Staff Memo & Attachments
8. Receive request for Resolution of Support for tax credits for Bethel Estates affordable senior housing project to be located at the northwest corner of 25th Terrace and O’Connell Road. Refer to Community Development Advisory Committee for tax credit resolution recommendation. Correspondence - Added 11/25/14
9. Approve funding for the 2014 employee longevity payments. Staff Memo

I. CURRENT VACANCIES – BOARDS/COMMISSIONS:
Listed below are existing and upcoming vacancies on City of Lawrence Boards and Commissions. If interested in serving on a board, citizens should visit the website at http://www.lawrenceks.org/boards to volunteer online, or send a letter of interest to the Mayor, P.O. Box 708, Lawrence, KS 66044.
Community Development Advisory Committee:
One vacancy for a position that expired 09/30/13, two vacancies for positions that expired 09/30/14, and one vacancy for a position that expires 09/30/15. One additional position expired 09/30/14 and is eligible for reappointment to additional terms. Eligibility requirements exist for this board.
One position expired 12/31/13. This position is delegated for a representative from the Plumbing Code Board of Appeals. One position expires 12/31/14 and is eligible for reappointment to an additional term. Two additional positions will expire 12/31/14 and are not eligible for reappointment. These positions are delegated for a representative that is a residential contractor and an architect/engineer.
Douglas County Senior Service Advisory Board:
One position expires 12/31/14 and is eligible for reappointment to additional terms.
Electrical Code Board of Appeals:
One vacancy for a position that expired 03/31/14 and one vacancy for a position that expires 03/31/15. Eligibility requirements exist for this board.
Homeless Issues Advisory Committee:
Two positions expire 12/31/14 and are eligible for reappointment to additional terms.
Two vacancies for positions that expired 09/30/14 and one vacancy for a position that expires 09/30/15.
One vacancy on the Advisory Council for a position that expires 09/30/14. One position expired 09/30/14 and is eligible for reappointment to an additional term.
Three current vacancies - one for a position that expired 11/30/13, one for a position that expires 11/30/14, and one for a position that expires 11/30/15. Five additional positions expire 11/30/14 and are all eligible for reappointment to additional terms.
Lawrence Douglas County Advocacy Council on Aging:
