Background

Corpus Christi Church on Bob Billings Parkway is constructing a new addition to their facility.  A Traffic Impact Study was completed when the school expanded to include 7^th and 8^th grade.  The Traffic Impact Study concluded that a dedicated left turn lane would be needed when this addition was constructed.

Project Description

Presented for the City Commissions consideration is a petition to form a benefit district for the proposed dedicated left turn lane.  The benefit district includes:

Project description:	The construction of a dedicated left turn on Bob Billings Parkway, including curb, pavement, storm sewer and sidewalks
Improvement District:	Corpus Christi Church is the only property
Estimated Cost:	$250,000
Apportionment of Cost:	100% is being paid by the benefit district (Corpus Christi) and 0% by the City at Large

The Church has requested that the 25% upfront cost requirement be waived. 

The Church will pay for the engineering costs in lieu of this requirement.

Attached is the petition from the Roman Catholic Arch Diocese of Kansas City.

Action

Since the Church is the sole property in the benefit district the City Commissions actions would be to receive the petition and adopt Resolution No. 7094 directing the improvement to be completed if appropriate.
