On September 30, 2014, the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

Exterior: Trim or remove dangerous overhanging trees. Replace deteriorated siding, fascia, soffits and paint house. Replace roofing, gutters and downspouts. Install weatherproof GFCI. Interior: Make minor plumbing repairs to water supply. Replace furnace, air conditioner and make minor ductwork repairs. Install smoke detector devices and repair a stair hand rail for safety.  Install jamb liners and stabilize paint on 4 windows. Paint stair treads.

Exterior: Replace flat and sloped roofing on the house.  Replace city sidewalk and homeowner sidewalks.  Interior: Asbestos abatement for an old boiler. Replace boiler with high efficiency combination heat and domestic hot water boiler. Install new bath tub with tile surround and grab bars. Replace dangerous gas line. Alternates were to replace roofing on detached garage, removing old boiler from basement and remove balance of Asbestos pipe insulation from basement.

 

Recommendation Action:

Waive staff estimate and approve the bid from T & J Holdings, Inc. for 212 Lincoln St in the amount of $22,975 and reject the bid for 1215 Rhode Island St. as the bid amount exceeds the program limits of $25,000.
