(1) ˝ ton truck

 

The Finance Department is requesting to place the following item on the consent agenda for consideration at the Commission’s October 7, 2014 meeting:

 

Background

 

The City’s 2014 budget authorized funding for the replacement of (1) ˝ ton truck in the Finance Department.  In addition, during the current budget year the decision was made to add (1) Field position and (1) truck in the Finance Department.  That vehicle has been ordered and received.  This request seeks approval to proceed in placing an order for the truck originally authorized in the 2014 budget.  If the vehicle order is placed now, Laird Noller Ford has committed to honoring the current bid price.  The vehicle being requested in this memo will replace Unit #227, a higher mileage vehicle currently in the fleet.

 

Staff Recommendation

 

Central Maintenance Garage and Finance Staff recommend the purchase of (1) ˝ ton truck from Laird Noller Ford utilizing bid #B1440.

 

 

Funding

 

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2014 budget process and would utilize the 501-1-1069-6004 account.

 

Action

 

Authorize the Finance Department to purchase (1) ˝ half ton truck from Laird Noller Ford for the amount of $22,481.00.
