Award bid for purchase of dumpsters

 

Background:

The Solid Waste Division currently has a high level of demand for various size front load dumpsters to implement the residential recycling program in multi-family areas.  In addition, the division needs replacement dumpsters to supplement current inventory for the solid waste side.

 

Dumpsters will be the same color, whether used for solid waste or recycling.  Recycling dumpsters will be designated with yellow lids and large stickers to indicate acceptable materials.

Funding:

The initial dumpster purchase for implementation of the curbside recycling program for multi-family is funded through bonds (resolution 7029).  Rear load dumpsters for the solid waste inventory are funding through the operating budget.

 

Action

Award Bid #1453 for dumpsters to Downing Sales and Service in the amount of $88,872.
