Project Description
As part of the maintenance and remediation responsibilities of the Lawrence VenturePark (formerly known as the Farmland Industries Nitrogen Plant), staff recommends plugging three existing water production wells. During the plants operational period, these three wells were used to provide process water for the plants operation. The location of these wells is approximately 6300 feet northeast of the plant site (refer to Figure 1).
Project Funding
The funding source for the cleanup, plugging and abandonment of the existing well sites will be funded entirely from with the environmental remediation fund obtained with the acquisition of the site.

Bid date: September 30, 2014 |
Anticipated Start Date: Mid to late October 2014 however not before the growing crops in the project area are harvested. |
Project Completion Date: Mid February 2015 |
Action Request
Set bid date of September 30, 2014 for the removal of the three existing water production wells and the subsequent site cleanup and well plugging - Project No. PW1312.
