The Outreach Team has helped house 22 individuals and 3 families this quarter. This is an increase from last quarter primarily due to in increased collaboration with Catholic Charities and their Rapid Rehousing Resource.

This quarter the team was given unused money from an Emergency Services Grant through The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. This money is targeted for literally homeless, on the streets (not in a shelter), individuals. This money can be used to help pay for engagement and to provide needed services to help the individual become housed. Some of the money was also allocated for Rapid Rehousing and the team has been working close with Catholic Charities to assist homeless individuals with deposit and up to three months’ rent.

The team is also looking forward to hearing from Salvation Army on a Supportive Permanent Housing Grant that was applied for. This grant would house chronically homeless individuals with Bert Nash providing the case management and other services needed to maintain their housing.

The number of chronically homeless individuals has been increasing and the team is hoping to target this population and hopefully decrease the number by the end of the year.
