RE: |
Issuance of Bonds for Construction of Bob Billings Pkwy and K-10 Interchange, PW1122 |
Background
The 2015 Capital Improvement Program includes the City’s share of the K-10/Bob Billings Parkway interchange.
K-10 and Bob Billings Parkway Interchange – The Kansas Department of Transportation is constructing the improvements at K-10 and Bob Billings Parkway. The interchange will be similar to the current interchange at 6th and K-10 (it will not be signalized). The City, County and State entered into an agreement that the City would provide $1 million and the County $528,000 in local participation funding.
The project has been bid and awarded to Hamm Construction in an amount of $18.3 million. The project will begin soon and expected to be complete in 2016.
On July 22, 2014 the City Commission adopted on final reading Ordinance No. 8994, annexing 54.31 acres which includes the state owned property for the interchange project.
On August 5, 2014 the City Commission adopted on final reading Ordinance No. 9025, designating K-10 within the city limits as a main trafficway.
Action
Adopt Resolution No. 7086, authorizing the issuance of bonds in the amount of $1 million for the construction of the K-10/Bob Billings Parkway interchange.
Respectfully Submitted,
