RE:	PW1407 – Authorize Mayor to sign acceptance of Grant Agreement with FAA for Environment Assessment at the Lawrence Airport

Background

In May 2014 the City approved a scope of services for an Environmental Assessment Study at the Lawrence Airport with Airport Development Group (ADG) in an amount of $71,966.00 (see attached memo).  This study will look at the impacts from the proposed Airport Improvement Program for the next five (5) years.

The City requested that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) include a drainage study for future development of the airport.  ADG provided a scope of services in an amount of $26,700.

Funding

The FAA has approved the grant in an amount of $98,666.  The FAA pays ninety percent (90%) and the City will be responsible for ten percent (10%) or $9,867.

Action

Authorize Mayor to sign the Grant Agreement for the acceptance of the Environmental Assessment and Drainage Study of the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
