RE:	Purchase of US Army Corp of Engineers approved rip-rap

Please include the following item on the City Commission Consent Agenda for consideration at the July 22, 2014 meeting.

Project Scope

Per the 2013 US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) periodical inspection it was noted that rip-rap replacement was needed along the Kansas River Levee.  In the 2014 approved general fund budget $50,000.00 was identified as a start for that project.  Three suppliers were contacted regarding availability and transportation of approved rip-rap. Mid States Materials provided the lowest priced for delivered USACE approved rip-rap with immediate availability.

HAMM	$27.50 /ton
Martin Marietta	$27.77/ton

Project Funding

Funding will be from the approved 2014 General Fund Levee Slope Repair line item.

Action Requested

Approve the purchase of ASACE approved rip-rap from Mid States Materials not to exceed $50,000.00.
