RE:	Change Order – Tennis Facility at Rock Chalk Park

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the June 24th meeting.

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to add electrical outlets, pickleball striping and a water line to the tennis facility that is being constructed at Rock Chalk Park

Project Description

As part of the infrastructure development for the Rock Chalk Park, the contractor is to install an eight court tennis facility for public use. The following items were not included in the initial conceptual design for the tennis facility, but are desirable.

Electrical outlets for each court for ball machines                               $1,650

Add striping for pickleball on two of the tennis courts                         $1,000

Install a water line to the courts for a future drinking fountain              $3,500

                                                                                                Total:             $6,150

Project Funding

Funding is available in the 2014 Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

Authorize the City Manager to pay Bliss Sports $6,150 to add electrical outlets, pickleball striping and a water line to the tennis facility that is being constructed at Rock Chalk Park.
