Award Recommendation for BID #B1437 |
The Parks and Recreation Department requested bids for kitchen equipment for the new recreation facility at Rock Chalk Park. This bid included commercial grade freezers (2), refrigerator, self-serve merchandise refrigeration unit, range, refrigerated pizza prep table and a microwave convection oven.

After reviewing the bids for the kitchen equipment received on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, the department recommends accepting the bid received from Muckenthaler, Inc., in the amount of $30,920. While not the lowest bid received, Muckenthaler, Inc is located in Emporia, Kansas and is a well-known company who provides and services restaurant equipment all over the state. The low bidder is an unknown firm from West Virginia and has not provided the specified information for local servicing of the purchased equipment.

Authorize the purchase of kitchen equipment for the new recreation facility at Rock Chalk Park from Muckenthaler, Inc., at a purchase price of $30,920.
