RE:	Furniture for public area and offices in the Center at Rock Chalk Park

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the June 17th meeting:

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to purchase furniture needed for the new recreation facility at Rock Chalk Park

Project Description

Over the past several months, Park & Recreation Staff have met with multiple furniture suppliers to establish the desired appearance and durability level for the furniture that will be placed in the public spaces and offices at the new recreation center. The furniture that has been selected will be provided by Scott Rice Office Works, LLC using a cooperative purchasing agreement with TCPN (The Cooperative Purchasing Network) for a total purchase price of $95,210.89. This price includes assembly and installation of the furniture.

Project Funding

The furniture purchase was budgeted in the 2014 Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to purchase furniture needed for the new recreation facility at Rock Chalk Park from Scott Rice Office Works LLC at a cost of $95,210.89
