RE:	June 3 Agenda Item – Set Bid Date for Bid #B1444 Blower #1 Rehabilitation at Wastewater Treatment Plant

Project Description

The Utilities Department requests to bid the rehabilitation of Blower #1 at the wastewater treatment plant as part of the preventive maintenance program. The blowers are a critical component to the secondary treatment process. Therefore, their continual operation is necessary for reliability of the treatment system and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This is the only remaining blower of the three that has not been rehabilitated in the 15 years of service. Maintenance staff tracks the vibration analysis and trending which indicates when the blower needs to be rebuilt. The blower has currently been placed out of service to prevent any further damage. The department requires a site visit for all bidders prior to submitting bids.

Project Funding

The work will be funded from the 2014 Operations and Maintenance budget.

Set bid opening date of June 17, 2014 for Bid Number B1444 Blower #1 Rehabilitation.
