RE:	Vacation of Public Street Right-of-Way, 346 Maine Street, J & S Holdings, LLC

Background

On June 3, 2014, the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of a public street right-of-way; described as:

15 feet of street right-of-way along West 3^rd Street at 346 Maine Street (Medical Arts Building), located in original West Lawrence Addition, Lot 73, Block 21, an addition to the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. 

The owner J & S Holdings, LLC, proposes the vacation for a parking lot to be located on the owner’s property and not the city’s right-of-way (see attached application and map). 

All utilities, as well as property owners within 200 feet, were notified.  Utilities will reserve an easement on/over/under the vacated right-of-way.  No objections were received.

Action Request

Hold public hearing and pending discussion, approve order of vacation for 15’ of public street right-of-way along West 3^rd Street, Lot 73, Block 21.
