RE:	Vacation of Public Street Right-of-Way,302 Maine Street, LMH

Background

On June 3, 2014, the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of a public street right-of-way; described as:

15 feet of street right-of-way along West 3^rd Street at 302 Maine Street (Lawrence Memorial Hospital), located in original West Lawrence Addition, Lot 74, Block 21, an addition to the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. 

The owner, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, proposes the vacation for a parking lot to be located on the owner’s property and not the city’s right-of-way (see attached application and map). 

All utilities, as well as property owners within 200 feet, were notified.  Utilities will reserve an easement on/over/under the vacated right-of-way.  No objections were received.

Action Request

Conduct public hearing and pending discussion, approve order of vacation for 15’ of public street right-of-way along West 3^rd Street, Lot 74, Block 21.
