Lawrence Recycles 21.2 Tons of Electronic Equipment at Spring Event

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, the City’s Solid Waste Division partnered with the University of Kansas to host an Electronic Recycling Event. The event was held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the KU Park & Ride east parking lot.  A total of four hundred and eighty one (481) participants dropped off 42,395 pounds (21.2 tons) of electronic equipment, which included computers, televisions, video and audio equipment, small appliances, cell phones and other hand held devices. Electronic recycling at this event was provided by Midwest Recycling Center (MRC). See the attached event report and participant survey results for more details.
