ORDINANCE NO. 8983

An Ordinance by the City of Lawrence, Kansas, exempting on a temporary basis the lawrence onboard ridesharing program from SEC. 69 (a) OF the standard traffic ordinance FOR KANSAS CITIES, 2013 EDITION AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE 8902.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1: Section 69 (a) “Pedestrians Soliciting Rides or Business” pertaining to the prohibition of standing upon or along a street or highway for the purpose of soliciting a ride, 2013 Edition of the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities as adopted by Ordinance 8902, shall not apply to the Lawrence OnBoard ridesharing program between:

May 6, 2014 and November 6, 2014, while Lawrence OnBoard conducts research for its program.

SECTION 2: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its passage and publication as provided by law.
