Background
The City Commission authorized funds for the replacement of utilities maintenance equipment in the 2014 budget process.
Staff Recommendation
Utilities Department requests to purchase one (1) tandem axle dump truck from the Metro MACPP contract. This truck will replace unit #249 that is at the end of its service life (See Points 249). This truck will be out fitted with front plow and with provisions for a spreader which will be supplied by the Streets Department. The cost of the truck is $138,013.06 (See Retail Sales Order) less trade-in value of unit #249($16,300 for a remaining balance of $121,713.06. (See Unit 249 Trade In)
Funding
Funding for these purchases was approved by the City Commission in the 2014 operating budget. The project will be funded from the Department of Utilities Operations & Maintenance Budget.
Action
Authorize the Utilities Department to purchase one (1) tandem axle dump truck from Kansas City Freightliner for a total price of $121,713.06.
