Parking request for Hearts of Gold fundraising event, May 10, 2014 |
Background
The Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association (LMHEA) is requesting to be able to use City parking for the upcoming bi-annual Hearts of Gold fundraising event to be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The event will begin around 5:00 p.m. that evening with setup going on throughout the day. The money raised at this year’s event is going towards the renovation of the 4th floor of the hospital, which contains Rehabilitation Services and Transitional Care.
The event will be held at the Lawrence Journal World facility in downtown Lawrence. The event expects about 600 people to attend this black tie event, which will require a large amount of parking. The organizers are requesting the City to allow the use of City parking spaces and block off those spaces for the entire day on May 10th, to ensure access to the spaces in the late afternoon and evening. Attached is the request with description and map, identifying the parking requested.
Action Request
