2014 Art in the Park use of right-of-way

The Lawrence Art Guild submitted a temporary use of public right-of-way permit application to close Massachusetts Street from North Park Street to South Park Street (see attached map) on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for the Art in the Park Art Fair. This event has been held annually in South Park and on Massachusetts Street. Staff will work with the Art Guild to block the street, control traffic appropriately and provide other city services.
The Police Department reports that this event will require two officers from the day shift and two officers from the evening shift for foot patrols during the event. In addition, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Fire / Medical, Lawrence Transit, DLI and the Chamber all have reviewed this permit with no issues.

Approve temporary use of right-of-way permit for the Lawrence Art Guild to close
