ORDINANCE NO. 8974

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1. Pursuant to City of Lawrence Code Section 4-105(E), the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. on New Hampshire Street, from north of the south entrance of the parking garage to 9^th street and shall not apply on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. on New Hampshire Street, from north of the south entrance of the parking garage to 9^th street associated with the Free State Arts Festival; provided the sale, possession and consumption are pursuant to City of Lawrence and State of Kansas law.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
