Re:	City Manager's Report -April 1, 2014 : 2013 Project of the Year Awards

The American Public Works Association (APWA) Kansas Chapter selected their Project of the Year Awards for 2013 Projects and two city projects were selected.

• The Iowa Reconstruction Project was selected in the Transportation category under $5 million.  City of Lawrence was the project manager, Bartlett & West, Inc. the design engineer, and King's Construction the contractor.
• The Pennsylvania Brick Street Reconstruction was selected in the Historical Restoration/Preservation category under $5 million.  City of Lawrence was the project manager, the City of Lawrence the design engineer, and R.D. Johnson was the contractor. 

Both projects will be submitted to the national APWA award committee for consideration.

Also, the American Concrete Paving Association (ACPA) Missouri/Kansas Chapter selected the Iowa Reconstruction Project for the best Municipal Street & Intersection Paving Project completed in the state of Kansas in 2013. The project was recognized at their annual conference on February 27th.
