Please place the following item on the consent agenda for the City Commission to consider at their March 25, 2014 meeting:

Background

Public Works requested bids to purchase a Tool Cat 5600 G-Series to use for snow removal and general maintenance at the airport, Community Health building and all three parking structures.

Recommendations

Central Maintenance Garage and Buildings & Structures staff recommends the purchase of the Tool Cat from K.C. Bobcat of Olathe Kansas, using the prices per the NJPA Contract #060311-CEC. The City is a Coop Member. This contract is effective 11-15-2012 to 07-19-2014.

Additional equipment/accessories including a general purpose bucket, snowblade and cutting edge, and an angle broom are also included (see attached quote.)

Funding

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2014 budget process line 001-3-3030-6005 and 503-3-2330-6005.

Action Request

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase the Tool Cat and accessories from K.C. Bobcat for the price of $61,757.17.
