2013-2014 Holiday Lights

Parks and Recreation has provided a report on the 2013-2014 Holiday Lights. Approximately, 100,000 lights were used to illuminate downtown Lawrence, create a fun, festive atmosphere throughout the holiday season.

 

2013 Ridership Update

Public Transit has provided a 2013 Ridership Update for Fixed Route, T Lift, and Nightline service.  For the first time, fixed route ridership eclipsed one million passengers.

 

2013 Year End Development Services Division Revenue and Expenditure Report

The attached memorandum reports calendar year 2013 permit fee revenues and expenditures for the Development Services Division of the Planning and Development Services Department, (hereinafter “DSD”), for the regulation of building activity during 2013.  This report is required pursuant to Section 5-174 of the City Code.  Because the percent Cumulative Past Overage Amount does not exceed twenty percent (20%), no action is recommended related to the increase or decrease in the building permits fee schedule. 

 

Sidewalk meeting with Pedestrian Coalition and work to develop improved sidewalk inventory

City staff recently met with the Pedestrian Coalition – a citizen created group seeking improvements in our sidewalks and related issues.  As part of that meeting, staff prepared a response to their questions.   Additionally, Public Works staff is hiring temporary workers this spring to revise and update an inventory of sidewalk conditions within Lawrence.   The plan is to have the inventory completed prior to final 2015 budget deliberations.   Staff plans to prepare a recommendation for the 2015 budget considerations regarding sidewalk maintenance and sidewalk gap issues within the community.
