RE:	No Parking – Louisiana Street

Background

On January 6, 2014, the Traffic Safety Commission heard a request to extend the existing NO PARKING restriction along the west side of Louisiana Street 70 feet north to the north property line of 1713 Louisiana Street. Parking is currently prohibited along the west side of Louisiana Street from 18^th Street, north 250 feet.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, no one from the public spoke in support of, or in opposition to the request. It was noted in the request that it is difficult for residents to get in-and-out of their driveways with all the vehicles parked on the street and students frequently exceeding the speed limit. A motion to recommend establishing NO PARKING along the west side of Louisiana Street from 18^th Street, north 320 feet carried, 7-0.

Action Request

It is recommended that the City Commission concur with the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission, if appropriate.
