Background
information:
The
New Hampshire parking garage currently has 160 existing 175W metal halide lights
consuming 210W each. The bulbs are $11 each and are replaced on average
once every year. Energy usage and cost for the building in 2013 was 294,336kWh
at $29,434, plus over $1,000 in bulbs.
The
City requested proposals for new LED lighting at the New Hampshire parking garage. Building Maintenance staff received and evaluated
12 proposals, evaluating price, life span, lighting photometrics, and
installation. (See attached rating)
The proposed Lumark Quadcast fixtures are 56W input
and have very similar light output with a lifetime of over 100,000 hours. The
single unit price per fixture is $229.27, plus hardware to install. The
energy and cost savings for the proposed lights is 215,000 kWh at $21,500, plus
no replacement bulbs and ballasts. The payback is 21 months at current
$0.10/kWh.
