RE:	F-650 1-1/2 Ton Dump Truck Chassis

Please place the following item on the consent agenda for the City Commission to consider at their February 11, 2014 meeting:

Background:

Public Works requests the purchase of a new 1-½ ton cab and chassis to be used for Street maintenance and snow removal. This truck will replace an older one ton truck that is at the end of service life and will increase efficiency in both maintenance and snow operations.

Recommendations

Purchase one 1-1/2 ton Ford F-650 chassis from Olathe Ford from the MACPP contract. There are no medium and heavy duty truck dealerships in Lawrence. Purchase price is $54,479.

Funding

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2014 operating budget line 214-3-3800-6005

Action Request

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase the chassis from Olathe Ford in the amount of $54,479.00.
