RE:	F-650 Dump Body, Hoist, Plow, Spreader and Pretreatment System

Please place the following item on the consent agenda for the City Commission to consider at their February 11, 2014 meeting:

Background:

Public Works requests the purchase of the components and installation to complete the F-650 Street maintenance truck requested in in the accompanying memo. This equipment is required to make the truck operational. The components are being purchased separately from the truck off the Kansas City Missouri bid contract, to reduce costs.

Recommendations

Purchase one dump body, snow plow, spreader, and pretreatment system for the Ford F-650 chassis in the accompanying memo. We have been granted permission from the vendor and the City of Kansas City, Missouri to purchase from this contract.

Funding

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2014 operating budget line 214-3-3800-6005

Action Request

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase the equipment from American Equipment  in the amount of $40,684.00.
