RE:	2 Single Axle Dump Trucks with spreaders and Plows

Please place the following item on the consent agenda for the City Commission to consider at their February 11, 2014 meeting:

Background:

The City Commission authorized funds for the replacement of street maintenance equipment in the 2014 budget process.

Recommendations

Public Works is requesting approval to purchase two single axle dump trucks from the Metro MACPP contract. These trucks will replace two older plow trucks that are high maintenance and at the end of their service life. Both trucks will out fitted with front and wing plows, spreaders and chemical pretreatment systems. Cost of both trucks is $301,348.00 

Funding

Funding for these purchases was approved in the 2014 operating budget.

Action Request

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase the dump trucks from Kansas City Freightliner for a total price of $301,348.00
