Please include the following item on the next City Commission agenda:

Set a bid opening date of February 4, 2014, for hourly rate tree trimming services (emergency/non-emergency).

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests the bidding of hourly rate tree trimming and removal services for the 2014 calendar year. City policy allows for the continuation of these service contracts for 4 additional years if both parties agree. The successful bidder will be hired as needed to perform small projects or to assist with emergency services throughout the year.

Project Funding

It is estimated that the total of these projects throughout the year will equal $40,000 -$60,000 and will be funded using the budgeted funds. 

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of February 4th, 2014, for the hourly forestry services.
