Background

On November 4, 2013, the Traffic Safety Commission heard a request to extend the trial period for RESIDENT PARKING ONLY on Edgehill Road for 90 days from November 20, 2013, to February 20, 2014. Earlier this year, a 6-month trial period to test RESIDENT PARKING ONLY on a portion of Edgehill Road was recommended by the Traffic Safety Commission and approved by the City Commission; the test period began on May 20 and was scheduled to end on November 20. A recent parking study in the Oread Neighborhood included a recommendation for a resident parking only program. City staff recommended that the trial period on Edgehill Road be extended for 90 days to give staff time to present the Oread study to City Commission and receive direction.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, no members of the public spoke to this item. A motion to recommend extending the trial period for RESIDENT PARKING ONLY on a portion of Edgehill Road carried, 8-0.

Action Request

It is recommended that the City Commission concur with the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission, if appropriate.
