RE:	FAA Grant

The FAA has sent the City what is referred to as the “Go” letter.  Basically this is the “Notice to Proceed” to prepare plans for improvements at the Lawrence Municipal Airport.  The project consists of safety improvements and upgrades to the lighting and signage systems at the Airport.

The project is scheduled for next spring.  The FAA will approve the grant pending funding being approved through Congress so nothing is a guarantee, but this is the typical process.

In December a design contract with ADG (Airport Development Group) will be presented for Commission approval.

Action Requested:  Receive the letter from the FAA for initiation of work for proposed AIP (Airport Improvement Program), Project No. 3-20-0047-020.
