Update on proposed Clinton Lake resort development

Last week the City was advised from the State of Kansas that the State was no longer pursuing the proposed Clinton Lake hotel development. Specifically, the State procurement office advised on September 26, 2013: “In a meeting held yesterday during which the developers presented financial options to the team and to the Governor, it was apparent that this project would not be/could not be financially feasible for the State of Kansas. Yesterday afternoon, consensus was reached that RFP0002445 for Resort Development at Lake Clinton will be cancelled and the bid received will be rejected, per section 1.12 of the RFP, “Acceptance or Rejection”. The City has not had the opportunity to review or analyze the proposal. We have requested a copy of the proposal which was submitted by the developer. When we receive a copy of the proposal it will be provided to the Commission as well.
