RE:	City Manager Report : Tom Orzulak Retirement and Mike Perkins taking over as new Street Division Manager

On September 20, 2013 Tom Orzulak wrapped up a successful career with the City of Lawrence as its Street Division Manager after 23 years. Tom’s dedication and commitment to this community was flawless. Tom demonstrated consistently distinguished performance. His leadership of the Street Division has resulted in numerous improvements to the infrastructure within our community. Over the years Tom successfully met every challenge given him and as a result he leaves his post with the city in better condition then when he began. Job well done!

Taking over the reins as the next Street Division Manager is Mike Perkins. Mike has over 30 year’s operational street maintenance experience, including emergency management and snow operations. He previously held management positions with Douglas County, Kansas and the Kansas Department of Transportation.

We wish Tom the best in his retirement and are looking forward to the next chapter of the Street Division with Mike at the helm.
