ORDINANCE NO. 8907

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, REZONING APPROXIMATELY 4.18 ACRES FROM UR (URBAN RESERVE) DISTRICT AND PCD (PLANNED COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT) DISTRICT TO OS (OPEN SPACE) DISTRICT AND AMENDING THE CITY’S “OFFICIAL ZONING DISTRICT MAP,” INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THE CITY CODE AT CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 20-108 OF THE “CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, 2013 EDITION,” AND AMENDMENTS THERETO.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

 

SECTION 1. The base zoning district classification for the following legally described real property, situated in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, to-wit:

 

A TRACT OF LAND IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 32, TOWNSHIP 12 SOUTH, RANGE 19 EAST OF THE 6TH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN DOUGLAS COUNTY, KANSAS, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:

 

COMMENCING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER; THENCE NORTH 87°56’47” EAST, ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, 427.54 FEET TO A POINT ON THE EASTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE SOUTH LAWRENCE TRAFFICWAY; THENCE SOUTH 02°42’20” EAST, 585.05 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE SOUTH 17°07’14 EAST, 819.54 FEET; THENCE NORTH 88°24’09” EAST, 160.78 FEET; THENCE NORTH 01°35’51” WEST, 90.91 FEET; THENCE ON A CURVE TO THE LEFT HAVING A RADIUS OF 55.00 FEET, A CHORD BEARING OF NORTH 37°59’27” EAST, A CHORD LENGTH OF 70.66 FEET, AND AN ARC LENGTH OF 76.74 FEET; THENCE NORTH 01°58’42” WEST, 137.82 FEET; THENCE NORTH 88°01’18” EAST, 165.77 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 01°58’42” EAST, 187.86 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 48°03’58” EAST, 57.21 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 41°56’02” WEST, 85.00 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 48°03’58” EAST, 272.12 FEET, THENCE SOUTH 01°58’42” EAST, 35.00 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 88°01’18” WEST, 23.41 FEET; THENCE NORTH 76°02’00” WEST, 327.60 FEET; THENCE NORTH 88°59’27” WEST, 277.29 FEET; THENCE NORTH 13°26’44” WEST, 740.22 FEET; THENCE NORTH 02°42’20” WEST, 191.90 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. is hereby changed from UR (Urban Reserve) District and PCD (Planned Commercial Development) District to OS (Open Space) District, as such district is defined and prescribed in Chapter 20 of the “Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2013 Edition,” and amendments thereto.

 

SECTION 2. The “Official Zoning District Map,” which is adopted and incorporated into the City Code by reference at City of Lawrence, Kan., Code § 20-108 (July 1, 2013), is hereby amended by showing and reflecting thereon the new zoning district classification for the subject property as described in more detail in Section 1, supra.

 

SECTION 3. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or is otherwise held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of any remaining parts of this ordinance. 

 

SECTION 4.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
