Rock Chalk Park Infrastructure Report

The attached report is the first monthly report regarding the progress and costs of the construction of infrastructure at Rock Chalk Park.

July Sales Tax Distribution

The City of Lawrence recently received its July sales tax distribution.  The distribution is the result of retail sales from mid-June to mid-July.  The distribution of $2,905,745.44 is about $50,000 less than the prior year distribution for the same month.  Please see the attached memo for more information.

Parks and Recreation Activities

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has recently been busy with activities celebrating the history of Lawrence. In August they hosted the annual “Let’s Build a Mud Fort” and “Cemetery Walk” activities, and they recently refurbished all of the benches and trashcans in downtown.
