Re: |
Signs of Community Interest, Gold Banners |
Background:
The city has a request from Kristina Young-Selters with the Baby Jay’s Legacy of Hope, a local 501-C non-profit organization that provides funds and donations to local families with kids fighting cancer. The group would like to place gold ribbons on downtown light poles (Massachusetts Street) during the month of September to raise awareness about childhood cancer. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The group’s website is www.babyjayslegacy.org.
Recommended Action:
Approve the request, as Signs of Community Interest, to place gold ribbons in downtown Lawrence to assist in raising awareness of childhood cancer. Staff will work with the group on any issues related to placing.
